About CRP/SAA
CRP (C-reactive protein) is a substance produced by the liver in response to inflammation. High levels of CRP in the blood indicate acute or chronic inflammation, and it is commonly used to assess conditions like infections, autoimmune diseases, and cardiovascular risks.
SAA (Serum Amyloid A) is another acute-phase protein produced by the liver during inflammation. It rises in response to infection, injury, or chronic inflammatory conditions and is often used alongside CRP to monitor inflammatory responses in diseases like rheumatoid arthritis or inflammatory bowel disease.
